I'm on my third cup today. To much? Nehhh
Digital Dreaming.
A lot of people will sit in there apartment day in and day out dreaming about what it could be. Okay maybe not a LOT of people, but at least that's what I do pretty much daily. So when an opportunity came for me to show my design sense in an apartment, I jumped on the chance to turn my floorplan into my digital dream.
I constructed the plan on Google Sketchup and rendered it with the podium plug-in. For anyone out there who loves to move their around furniture, (and so much more) this is an awesome program for you. It is extremely user friendly, free to download and there are thousands of different blocks to choose from.
You'll probably notice some of the items differ throughout images. Like I said, I dream about this a lot, so even after the deadline was met, I couldn't stop messing with it.
I have actually been using sketchup to help bring my designs to life for about five years now, and I'm actually thinking about making some tutorials to help others really utilize this awesome program. So for any of you who want help bringing your spaces to life, let me know if quick and simple video tutorials would be something that you're interested in.
Thanks & Happy Monday
Goodbye Aruba.
I write this post from a very sad state, on the airplane home from my family vaca in Aruba. I had so much fun taking a break from reality to lay out on a beach, cool off in the ocean and spy on the fish while snorkeling. My family means the world to me, so getting to spend a week with them was an absolute blast!
so goodbye Aruba and hello reality. I'm unbelievably excited for what comes next! Just wait, it's going to be good
How to Have an Awesome Home Office
This is actually the desk I chose to purchase a few months back and I have to say I LOVE it! I really didn't need much and I love the fact that there was a space for me to display items and hide others.
I purchased it at a steal from Ikea for $79!
An awesomely colorful thrown is from One Kings Lane is just what any simple desk is asking for.
Calhoun Chair.
The first time I saw this lamp I became completely obsessed. Although it is a serious vintage splurge item from Rewire.com, how can you not be in love with this desk lamp?
Italian Articulating Desk Lamp. Italy 1950's
It's a somewhat splurge for only three boxes, but lets be serious these nesting boxes are a really cute way to stay organized.
Also from Ikea, this Stockholm Side chair makes a great simple guest chair for any home office.
Keep it comfy & stylish with Furbish Studio's Palm Beach Pillow. Any modern thrown would love the beachy accent.
This is actually a clipping from a previous post I did on my Inspiration wall. As you can see, there really are no rules. Try to just pick images that inspire you and items that you like.
Pretty much anything goes when it comes to an inspiration board. If you need a starting point though, magazine clippings are always great.
If you are looking for a color pop for one of your office walls, try a cool tone. Navy's & blues are relaxing to the eye but also channel power and strength.
