I know that most bloggers have been featuring countless pumpkin DIYs or decorating ideas to celebrate this frightening holiday. I however have chosen to take this bloggerfest day in a different direction.
Don't get me wrong, I love Halloween decorations and a good pumpkin DIY, but today I wanted to feature one of my favorite artist, Dessie Jackson, instead. With imminence amount of detail and somewhat haunting twists, her pieces have that almost spooky feel to them. She uses her remarkable talents to create these life-like portraits, and then takes the piece from ordinary to amazing by tweaking it in an unconventional way. Ripping, scribbling or even melting the figures hands into their skin, all of her pieces are unbelievably stunning.
I actually stumbled upon her because of mutual friends in Philly and started following along @dessiejackson. The first pieces I ever saw of hers were the little Halloween crew (below), so I thought it was incredibly fitting to feature her today. My favorite holiday and my favorite philly artist. The perfect post combo. Enjoy // Like //&Share
